STAFF

The citizens of Hypoluxo are served by the Mayor/Town Manager, the Town Clerk/Assistant Town Manager and two Administrative Clerks. 

 

MAYOR/TOWN MANAGER  

The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Town responsible to the electorate for the administration of all Town affairs placed in his or her charge by the Town Charter located in the Code of Ordinances.  Among other powers and duties as identified in the Charter the Mayor shall attend and preside at all Council meetings; shall see that all laws, provisions of the town, and acts of Council are faithly executed; shall prepare the annual budget and submit to the Council; shall keep Council fully advised as to the financial condition of the Town.

 

 

TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk acts as Assistant Administrator, Town Treasurer and Clerk of the Town Council.  The Town Clerk maintains and has custody of all Public Records and serves as Supervisor of Town Elections.  The Town Clerk is responsible for maintaining the Town’s accounting records and for all aspects of business taxes including billing for, collecting and issuing business tax receipts.  The Town Clerk disseminates a wide variety of public information including maintaining the Town’s web page. 

 

ADMINISTRATIVE CLERKS

The Administrative Clerks are responsible for contractor registrations.  The Administrative Clerks accept building permit applications, determine building permit fees, collect the fees and issue building permits and subsequently schedule building inspections upon completion of work.  The Administrative Clerks receive various potential Code violations and work closely with the Town’s Code Enforcement Officer in resolving any Code violations.  The Administrative Clerks provide administrative and clerical support for all aspects of the Town’s daily operations.

 

BASIC SERVICES

Basic services in the Town of Hypoluxo are provided by interlocal agreements between the Town and adjoining cities or by contracts with businesses.
