TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE (561) 582-0155

The Town Clerk acts as Assistant Administrator, Town Treasurer, and Clerk of the Town Council and Code Enforcement. The Clerk also has custody of all Public Records and serves as Supervisor of Town Elections.

The Town's Clerk's Office is responsible for issuing occupational licenses, building permits, contractor registrations, and flood zone determinations. In addition, the Clerk's Office furnishes a wide variety of information to the public.

The current town clerk is Barbara Searls Ross, who has served the Town since 1979.

Deb Fick came on board in 2001 and is the Deputy Town Clerk. She also assists the Building Official.

Janet Whalen, Administrative Assistant, joined the team in March 2006.  Janet is   part-time and assists the Town Clerk & Deputy Clerk. 

BUILDING DEPARTMENT (561) 582-0155

The building department of the Town of Hypoluxo consists of the Building Official, a contract position.

The Building Department is recognized as one of the most critical and important functions of municipal government in that it plays an important role in the protection of life, health and safety of every citizen.

The Building Official is responsible for enforcing all Town building codes and making sure that builders follow the directives of the town council.

The Building Department also approves all Town-issued building permits and performs inspections when necessary. Anyone planning to build, remodel, or perform any improvements on property in the Town should contact the Building Department to determine if a building permit is necessary.  The Town has contracted with the Village of Wellington to provide building department services.

Building Official Frank Choiniere is available in the town office on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 2 PM.  At all other times  you can reach him by calling 561.582.0510 for questions concerning building department activites.  Inspections for permitted construction will be performed on regular business days with 24-hour notice and may be scheduled by calling 561.582.0510.  Final inspections will be scheduled on Wednesdays.
